Cruella de Vil

Cruella de Vil is the villain from Dodie Smith's novel *The Hundred and One Dalmatians* and its Disney adaptations—a wealthy, glamorous woman obsessed with making a fur coat from dalmatian puppy skins.

The name, punning on "cruel devil," has become shorthand for anyone fashionably heartless or extravagantly villainous: She strutted in like Cruella de Vil in that fur stole.
