Queen Elizabeth 2
Famous ocean liner
Queen Elizabeth 2, often abbreviated QE2, was a British ocean liner operated by Cunard Line from 1969 to 2008.
Named for the ship (not the monarch—that would be Queen Elizabeth II), it served as both a transatlantic liner and cruise ship.
The QE2 was the last oil-fired passenger ship to cross the Atlantic regularly: We sailed to New York on the QE2.
