Perseids

Mid-August shooting stars

The Perseids are a meteor shower occurring annually in late July through mid-August, peaking around August 11-13.

The shower appears to radiate from the constellation Perseus, hence the name.

The Perseids are among the most reliable and spectacular meteor displays, producing up to 100 visible meteors per hour under ideal conditions: We stayed up late to watch the Perseids.
