Peapod

Early delivery pioneer

A peapod is the elongated green casing that holds peas on the vine.

Some varieties are eaten whole—snow peas and sugar snap peas—while others are shelled, the pod discarded.

The shape lends itself to small, enclosed vessels: The baby slept in a peapod bassinet.

Also spelled as two words: pea pod.
