Patriots fans
Brady era faithful
Fans of the New England Patriots, the NFL franchise based in the Boston area.
The term often carries connotations beyond mere fandom—Patriots fans have a reputation for aggressive defensiveness of their team, particularly during the Tom Brady era, and for dismissing cheating scandals as media persecution: Every Patriots fan I know still insists Deflategate was a hoax.
The team's sustained success bred a fanbase that outsiders find insufferably smug.
