Neufchâtel

Heart-shaped French cheese

Neufchâtel is a soft, creamy French cheese from Normandy, similar to cream cheese but with a slightly grainier texture and tangier flavor.

It's traditionally shaped into hearts, especially for Valentine's Day.

American Neufchâtel is a lower-fat cream cheese substitute: I use Neufchâtel instead of cream cheese in my cheesecake.
