Mohammedan
Follower of Islam
Mohammedan is an old-fashioned term for a Muslim or something relating to Islam.
The word was standard in English through the early twentieth century but is now considered dated and mildly offensive, as it implies Muslims worship Muhammad rather than God.
The Mohammedan conquests spread across North Africa.
Muslim is the preferred term today.
