Lisboa is the Portuguese name for Lisbon, the capital and largest city of Portugal.
English speakers encounter it on maps, in travel contexts, and in Portuguese media.
The city sits on the Tagus River estuary along the Atlantic coast.
We flew into Lisboa and took the train to Porto.
