Prince Charming
Ideal romantic archetype
Prince Charming is a stock fairy-tale character—the handsome royal who rescues the princess and provides a happy ending.
The term now refers to any idealized romantic partner, especially one a woman hopes to meet: She's still waiting for her Prince Charming.
Often used ironically when someone falls short of the ideal: Well, he's no Prince Charming, but he's reliable.
