Hogmanay
Edinburgh's midnight party
Hogmanay is the Scottish celebration of New Year's Eve, traditionally more significant in Scotland than Christmas.
The festivities include "first-footing"—the custom of visiting neighbors after midnight, ideally bringing symbolic gifts like coal or whisky.
We're spending Hogmanay in Edinburgh this year.
