Grimm Brothers
German tale compilers
The Grimm Brothers were Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, German scholars who collected and published folktales in the early nineteenth century.
Their anthology, known in English as Grimm's Fairy Tales, preserved stories like "Cinderella," "Hansel and Gretel," and "Snow White" that have become foundational to Western children's literature.
The original Grimm Brothers versions were darker than the Disney adaptations.
