Green Mountain

Vermont's literal translation

Green Mountain refers to mountains or ranges named for their verdant appearance, most notably the range running through Vermont—whose name itself means "green mountain" in French.

The Green Mountains give Vermont its identity and nickname, the Green Mountain State.

We hiked the Long Trail through the Green Mountains.

The term also appears in brand names, particularly Green Mountain Coffee.
