Green Acres

Rural comedy series

Green Acres is an American television sitcom (1965–1971) about a Manhattan lawyer who moves with his glamorous wife to a dilapidated farm.

The show's fish-out-of-water premise and absurdist humor made it a cultural touchstone.

The title now evokes rural simplicity, often ironically: They bought a place out in the country—their own Green Acres.
