Greek system
Lettered college organizations
The Greek system refers to fraternities and sororities at American colleges and universities, named for their use of Greek letters as chapter names: She joined the Greek system her sophomore year.
These social organizations provide housing, networking, and community, though they're also associated with hazing, exclusivity, and party culture.
