Greek playwright
Ancient Athenian dramatist
A Greek playwright is a dramatist from ancient Greece, where Western theater originated.
The term most often refers to the great tragedians—Aeschylus, Sophocles, Euripides—and the comic writer Aristophanes, whose works from the fifth century BCE remain foundational to dramatic literature.
We're reading a Greek playwright in my humanities course.
