God-fearer

One who reveres

A God-fearer was a Gentile in the ancient world who worshipped the Jewish God and followed Jewish ethical teachings without fully converting to Judaism—attending synagogue and observing moral laws but not undergoing circumcision or keeping all dietary restrictions.

The term appears in the New Testament and historical texts describing these sympathetic outsiders: Many God-fearers became early Christian converts.

Sometimes used more broadly for anyone who reveres God without formal religious affiliation.
