European carp
Old World minnow
A large freshwater fish native to Europe and Asia, introduced worldwide for food and sport fishing.
In many regions where it was introduced, particularly Australia and North America, European carp has become an invasive pest, outcompeting native species and degrading waterways by stirring up sediment while feeding.
Also called common carp.
