Elysian Fields
Blessed souls' destination
Elysian Fields is the paradise of Greek mythology—the blessed afterlife where heroes and the virtuous dwell in eternal peace.
The phrase evokes idyllic beauty and perfect happiness: The garden was like the Elysian Fields.
It lends its name to the famous avenue in Paris, the Champs-Élysées.
