Earth Hour
Annual darkness demonstration
Earth Hour is an annual event where participants turn off non-essential lights for one hour, typically on a Saturday evening in late March.
Organized by the World Wildlife Fund since 2007, it aims to raise awareness about climate change and energy consumption.
Landmarks worldwide go dark as a symbolic gesture: The Sydney Opera House participated in Earth Hour.
