Czechoslovaks

Former Central Europeans

Czechoslovaks are people from Czechoslovakia, the Central European nation that existed from 1918 to 1992.

The term encompasses both Czechs and Slovaks, the two main ethnic groups of the former country.

After Czechoslovakia's peaceful dissolution into the Czech Republic and Slovakia, the term became primarily historical: My grandparents were Czechoslovaks who immigrated after World War II.
