Cordillera Central

Luzon's main spine

Cordillera Central is a name applied to several mountain ranges in Spanish-speaking regions, most notably in the Philippines, Puerto Rico, Colombia, and the Dominican Republic.

The Spanish phrase means "central mountain range," and each cordillera forms the geographic spine of its respective island or territory: The Cordillera Central runs through the heart of Puerto Rico.
