Cobain
Kurt Cobain was the lead singer, guitarist, and primary songwriter of Nirvana, the band that brought grunge music into the mainstream in the early 1990s.
His raw vocal style and confessional lyrics defined a generation's alienation.
Cobain's 1994 suicide at age 27 made him an icon of artistic torment: He's the Cobain of his generation.
