Christian symbols
Cross and fish
Christian symbols are visual representations of concepts central to Christianity.
The cross commemorates Jesus's crucifixion and is the faith's most recognized emblem.
The fish (ichthys) served as a secret sign among early Christians.
Other common symbols include the dove (Holy Spirit), the lamb (Jesus as sacrifice), bread and wine (Eucharist), and the chi-rho monogram combining the first two Greek letters of "Christ." The church was decorated with traditional Christian symbols.
