Chevy Chase
D.C. bedroom community
Chevy Chase is an American comedian and actor, best known for his work on *Saturday Night Live* in its first season and in comedy films like *Fletch*, *Caddyshack*, and the *National Lampoon's Vacation* series.
His deadpan delivery and pratfalls defined 1970s-80s American screen comedy.
Chevy Chase is also a wealthy suburb of Washington, D.C., and the name predates the comedian—it comes from a medieval English border ballad.
