Bill and Ted
Bodacious time travelers
Bill and Ted are the protagonists of a film franchise beginning with *Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure* (1989), two amiable California teenagers whose time-traveling misadventures and airheaded optimism became cult favorites.
Their catchphrases—Excellent! , Bogus! , Party on, dudes! —and philosophy of universal kindness (Be excellent to each other) entered the cultural lexicon.
The characters embody a specific late-80s archetype: lovable slackers whose good hearts compensate for their dim wits.
