Bandstand

Televised teen dancing

A bandstand is a roofed outdoor platform where a band or orchestra performs, typically found in parks and public spaces.

The structure is often circular or octagonal, elevated to project sound over a crowd: Families gathered around the bandstand for the Sunday concert.

The term also applies to the stage area in a dance hall or nightclub where musicians play.
