Baby Doc
Haitian hereditary tyrant
Baby Doc is a nickname for Jean-Claude Duvalier, who succeeded his father François "Papa Doc" Duvalier as dictator of Haiti in 1971 at age nineteen.
The diminutive nickname emphasized both the dynastic succession and his youth.
He ruled until 1986, when popular uprising forced him into exile.
The pattern extends to other cases where a child inherits a parent's position or notoriety.
