Azeroth

Warcraft's main world

Azeroth is the fictional world where the Warcraft video game series and World of Warcraft take place—a fantasy realm of humans, orcs, elves, and other races in perpetual conflict.

The name has become shorthand for the immersive, time-consuming nature of online gaming: I lost my twenties to Azeroth.

Players speak of "returning to Azeroth" when resubscribing to the game.
