Acme Corporation
Anvil mail-order company
Acme Corporation is the fictional company that supplies elaborate and invariably defective products to Wile E.
Coyote in the Road Runner cartoons—rocket-powered roller skates, giant magnets, portable holes.
The name has become shorthand for any generic or placeholder company: Acme Widgets, Acme Industries.
In legal and business contexts, "Acme Corp" serves as a stand-in when a real company name isn't needed, much like "John Doe" for unnamed persons.
