2,4-D

Broadleaf plant poison

2,4-D is a synthetic herbicide widely used to kill broadleaf weeds while leaving grasses unharmed.

It works by mimicking plant hormones, causing uncontrolled growth that kills susceptible plants.

Common in lawn care and agriculture since the 1940s, it was also a component of Agent Orange.

The farmer sprayed 2,4-D on the wheat fields to control dandelions.
