Tall drinking challenge
A yard glass is an extremely tall, slender drinking glass approximately three feet (one yard) in length, typically holding two to three pints of beer.
The glass flares into a bulb at the bottom, making it impossible to set down until emptied.
Yard glasses appear at pubs for drinking challenges and ceremonial toasts: He attempted to down a yard glass without spilling.
