word filter
Profanity blocking software
A word filter is software that scans text for prohibited terms and blocks, removes, or replaces them.
Forums and chat platforms use word filters to catch profanity, slurs, or spam.
Users often circumvent filters with creative misspellings: The word filter caught "shit" but not "sh1t".
