women voters
Ladies at polls
Women voters are female citizens who participate in elections.
The phrase became prominent during suffrage movements, when women's right to vote was contested or newly won.
It still appears in political analysis discussing voting patterns by gender: Women voters favored the Democratic candidate by a wide margin.
