wisemen

Gift-bearing travelers

Wisemen is the plural of wiseman, a person of great knowledge or judgment.

The term appears most often in reference to the Magi—the three wisemen who visited the infant Jesus bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Outside biblical contexts, wisemen sounds archaic; modern usage prefers wise men as two words: The wise men of the village gathered to deliberate.
