windscreens

Car front panels

Windscreens is the British English term for what Americans call windshields—the large glass panels at the front of vehicles that protect occupants from wind, debris, and weather while allowing clear forward visibility.

The term applies to cars, motorcycles, boats, and aircraft.

Windscreens may also refer to foam covers placed over microphones to reduce wind noise during outdoor recording, or portable barriers used to shield camping stoves from gusts.
