windmill farms
Renewable energy fields
Windmill farms are large installations of wind turbines grouped together to generate electricity.
The turbines—tall towers with rotating blades—capture wind energy and convert it to power.
Though technically wind farms (modern turbines aren't windmills), the terms are used interchangeably: We drove past a windmill farm in West Texas.
They appear increasingly across rural landscapes and offshore waters.
