where's the beef
Questioning the content
Where's the beef is a challenge demanding substance behind flashy presentation.
The phrase asks what's really being offered when something seems like more sizzle than steak.
It gained currency from a 1984 Wendy's commercial mocking competitors' tiny hamburger patties, then entered political discourse when Walter Mondale used it against Gary Hart's campaign proposals.
His proposal sounds impressive, but where's the beef?
