wet floor signs
Slippery surface warnings
Wet floor signs are the portable yellow warning placards placed on recently mopped or otherwise slippery surfaces.
The bright color and triangular tent shape make them visible from multiple angles.
They appear constantly in commercial and institutional settings: The janitor set out wet floor signs before mopping the lobby.
Their ubiquity has made them a minor cultural symbol of mundane workplace safety.
