trip hazard
Stumbling block ahead
A trip hazard is anything that could cause someone to stumble or fall—an uneven sidewalk, a loose cable, a raised threshold.
The term appears frequently in safety inspections, warning signs, and liability contexts: The cracked pavement was cited as a trip hazard.
