joint ownership
Mutual property holding
Joint ownership is shared legal possession of property, assets, or rights by two or more parties.
Each owner holds an interest in the whole rather than a specific portion: The siblings have joint ownership of the family cabin.
Common arrangements include joint tenancy, where surviving owners inherit a deceased owner's share, and tenancy in common, where shares pass to heirs independently.
