velcro closures
Ripping fabric attachments
Velcro closures are fastening systems that use two strips of fabric—one covered with tiny hooks, the other with soft loops—that grip when pressed together and separate when pulled apart.
Common on shoes, bags, and clothing where quick, adjustable fastening is useful: Kids' shoes with velcro closures are easier than laces.
The term derives from the Velcro brand name, now used generically.
