upsampled
Resolution artificially increased
Upsampled describes audio, video, or image data that has been converted to a higher resolution or sample rate than the original.
The process adds data points between existing ones, often through interpolation.
An upsampled recording doesn't contain more original information—it's an estimate of what higher-resolution capture might have yielded: The upsampled 4K version looked slightly better than the original 1080p.
