untunable
Cannot be tuned
Untunable describes something that cannot be brought into proper tune or adjusted to a desired pitch or frequency.
A piano with a cracked soundboard may be untunable, as might a cheap guitar that won't hold its tuning pegs in place.
The word extends beyond music to anything resistant to calibration or adjustment: The old radio was essentially untunable, stuck between stations no matter what we tried.
