unlaunchable
Stuck on pad
Unlaunchable describes something that cannot be launched, whether due to technical failure, poor design, or insurmountable obstacles.
The term applies most often to rockets, spacecraft, or missiles that fail to meet launch requirements, but extends to software products, business ventures, or campaigns that never make it off the ground.
The engineers declared the satellite unlaunchable after discovering a critical flaw in the guidance system.
A project deemed unlaunchable may be salvageable with more work or permanently grounded.
