unformattable
Resists imposed structure
Unformattable describes something that cannot be formatted—typically a digital storage device that refuses to accept a new file system structure.
A corrupted hard drive or damaged USB stick may prove unformattable: The disk utility says the drive is unformattable.
Less commonly, it describes text or data that resists being arranged into a desired layout.
