two point conversion
Skip the kick
A two point conversion is an alternative to the extra point kick after a touchdown in American football.
Instead of kicking for one point, the team attempts to advance the ball into the end zone from the two-yard line for two points: They went for the two point conversion but the pass was incomplete.
Teams typically attempt it when trailing late or when game situations make the extra point mathematically disadvantageous.
