Troll face is a crudely drawn cartoon face with a wrinkled smile and squinting eyes, originating from early 2000s internet culture.
It signals that someone has successfully provoked or deceived another person online—the visual equivalent of saying "gotcha." The image became synonymous with internet trolling and mischief: He posted a troll face after baiting everyone in the comments.
