trippin

Acting totally crazy

Trippin is slang for acting irrationally, being out of touch with reality, or talking nonsense: You're trippin if you think I'm paying that much.

The word comes from the hallucinatory effects of psychedelic drugs—someone trippin behaves as if under the influence, whether they are or not.

It often dismisses another person's statement or behavior as absurd: She said what? Man, she trippin.
