trig

Sine and cosine

Trig is informal for trigonometry, the branch of mathematics dealing with triangles and their angles: I failed trig in high school.

Separately, trig means neat, trim, or smart in appearance—a usage now confined mainly to British dialects: She looked trig in her new uniform.

To trig a wheel is to block it from rolling.
