tree sparrows
Rufous-capped seed-eaters
Tree sparrows are small brown songbirds of the sparrow family.
Two unrelated species share the name: the Eurasian tree sparrow, found across Europe and Asia, and the American tree sparrow, a winter visitor to North America despite its name—it breeds in arctic tundra.
Both favor open woodlands and scrubby areas rather than dense forests.
